The International Cancer Screening Network (ICSN) Biennial Meeting is a two-day event convened by the U.S. National Cancer Institute and The Institute of Public Health of Denmark at the University of Copenhagen. The meeting will take place June 4–6, 2008, at the Lo-Skolen Conference Center in Helsingør, Denmark.
Meeting topics will include:
- Breast cancer screening
- Test sets to evaluate mammography interpretive performance, evaluation of the quality of diagnosis, and treatment of screen-detected breast cancer
- An examination of potential causes of observed declines in breast cancer incidence
- Colorectal cancer screening—establishing organized colorectal cancer screening programs
- Cervical cancer screening
- Developing surveillance systems to monitor the effect of HPV vaccination on benign and malignant cervical lesions
- Late effects from treatment of cervical dysplasia, quality assurance monitoring
- Evaluation in relation to new cervical cancer screening guidelines
The ICSN (formerly the International Breast Cancer Screening Network) is a voluntary consortium of countries that have active population-based breast, colorectal and cervical cancer screening programs. The ICSN is dedicated to collaborative efforts aimed at understanding how to use and compare data from screening programs internationally and develop methods for evaluating the impact of population-based cancer screening programs.
