Call for Abstracts and Posters
CRCHD invites the submission of abstracts highlighting original and recent research from the following four categories: Basic, Behavioral/Population, Clinical, or Translational studies in cancer and/or cancer health disparities for presentation during this year’s Professional Development Workshop (PDW).

Who Should Submit an Abstract
Career Development (K Award) grantees are required to submit an abstract. All other CRCHD grantees are strongly encouraged to submit an abstract.
General Information
Submitted abstracts will be considered for both oral and virtual poster presentation. Accepted scientific posters will be presented virtually using an online meeting platform. Posters will remain on the platform for 6 months after the PDW, allowing attendees time to review and ask questions of the authors.
Abstract Submission Guidelines
Registration for the PDW is required before submitting an abstract.
Presenters of selected abstracts are required to attend the PDW in person.
Abstracts must be submitted online through the registration website with minimal text formatting (e.g., tables, etc.).
Abstracts must be completed and submitted using the template provided. Please note: Any abstracts submitted outside of the provided template will not be reviewed. A sample abstract is provided for guidance.
Abstracts must be uploaded and submitted in both PDF and Microsoft Word formats.
Format Specifications
Abstracts must not exceed 300 words.
Abstracts must not exceed a maximum of 1 page and use Arial 12-point font.
Each submission must include the following:
Title: Abstract title in bold, and indicate the content of the abstract.
Authors: Include author and/or coauthors listed and grouped together (last name, first initial, middle initial). The primary presenter's name should be listed first. Omit academic degrees and titles but include institutional affiliations for each of the collaborating and corresponding authors. Please do not abbreviate institutional affiliations.
Introduction/Background: Brief description of the background, hypothesis, and objectives of the study/project.
Methods: A summary of the experimental methods and/or procedures.
Results: A summary of the data and results obtained.
Conclusions: The conclusions and implications of the work, including the significance of the finding(s).
Funding: Funding support information for the work described in the abstract.
Acceptance Notification
Notification regarding acceptance or rejection of abstracts will be sent via email to the presenting author in late April. The email will specify whether an abstract is accepted as an oral and virtual poster presentation or virtual poster presentation only.
If accepted, presenters will need to upload a PDF of the poster in widescreen (16:9) format, as well as a 2- to 3-minute video of the poster presentation using a YouTube or Vimeo link to the virtual platform. Detailed instructions will be provided.
